In an age of anonymous, large corporations we pride ourselves on providing not only the quality one would expect from a family business, but also a distinct reflection of Cornish and West Country needs. We like to think we please our customers with value for money, good quality products and an understanding of our customers’ needs.

Chaffins Foodservice was established as W.G. Chaffin and Co. in 1958 by William Chaffin and became a limited company in 1962. In 1970, the business was bought by Mr J. M. Brown and the company was owned by the Brown family until November 2017 when Chaffins was acquired by R D Johns Ltd, another family owned Westcountry foodservice company.

When Chaffins was first established it was a Cash and Carry. In the 1980′s due to secured contracts outside of Newquay a delivery service was established. This change to meet more demanding customer needs has taken Chaffins Foodservice to where it is today; Cornwall’s leading distributor of Ambient, Frozen, Chilled and Non food items.

Picture of bread rollsChaffins currently has customer base in excess of 800. Chaffins predominantly services these regular customers with a daily or twice weekly delivery in Cornwall and Devon including the Isles of Scilly and as far as east Devon.

Chaffins currently employs 32 full time members of staff who work in the various departments from Sales to Warehouse and Transport.
